- Conduct legal research and analyze case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to assigned cases.
- Draft legal documents including briefs, pleadings, appeals, agreements, contracts, and legal memoranda.
- Assist in preparing for court appearances, depositions, and mediations.
- Advise and represent clients in courts, before government agencies, or in private legal matters.
- Communicate with clients, colleagues, judges, and others involved in the case.
- Review and manage client files, updating with correspondence and relevant materials.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and legal precedents pertinent to the firm's focus areas.
- Participate in continuing legal education (CLE) programs to stay current with the law.
- Support senior attorneys and partners with case management and trial preparation (in insurance defense practice).
- Ensure all legal practices are conducted ethically and in compliance with the law.
- Collaborate with other legal staff to ensure smooth operation of all firm activities.
- Review and sign legal documents as authorized by senior attorneys or partners.
- Assist in the development of legal strategies for clients' cases.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the PA bar and in good standing.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of post-graduate legal experience preferred
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Proficiency in drafting motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
- Ability to work on several cases simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong oral advocacy and negotiation skills
- Experience with depositions, hearings, and trials preferred (for insurance defense work)
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality
- Proficiency with legal research tools such as LexisNexis or Westlaw
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary to meet critical deadlines
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing legal education
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Knowledge of specific areas of law may be required, depending on the firm's focus (e.g., municipal law, estate planning, insurance defense- auto, trucking, general premises, etc.)
- Able and willing to travel to various counties as needed for depositions/court appearances for insurance defense work

Our client, JohnsonDuffie, is seeking a dedicated and driven Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team in practice areas that may include municipal law, estate planning and/or insurance defense.
This is a hybrid and/or fully remote role with great flexibility to be based from their Wyomissing of Lemoyne offices.
Compensation: 80,000 - $125,000 depending on experience
