Description
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Sr.
Director of Imaging Services and Chief of Radiology, coordinates imaging services at Erlanger Medical Center, including performance improvement activities, image quality, and compliance of federal and state regulatory mandates.
Specific departments include BEH CT and EDCT, MRI, Adult Radiology and North Radiology, with an emphasis on inpatient operations. Coordination of these services is across the health systems multiple campuses and physician practices. Supervises approximately 100 staff members.Education:
Required:
A graduate of an ARRT approved radiologic technology program.
Reference:
BS in health field, management, or other related program
Preferred:
MS
Advanced certification in CT and/or MRI
Experience:
Required:
Five years minimum hospital experience in Radiology
At least four years supervisory experience
Preferred:
Hospital experience in a large, academic, level I trauma center
Strongly prefer 2 years CT and/or 2 years MRI experience
Proven progressive leadership
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required:
ARRT certified (compliant with all continuing education mandates)
Preferred:
CT, MRI certification by ARRT, MRI Safety Officer training certificate
Department Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Sr.
Director of Imaging Services, directs and coordinates CT, MRI, North and Adult Radiology imaging services at Erlanger Medical Center, with an emphasis on inpatient operations.
The Radiology Director is responsible for leadership of their sections as follows:Integration of the department into the organization's primary function.
Coordination and integration of interdepartmental and intradepartmental services, including participation in all hospital service line committee meetings as applicable.
Recommendations and input into the development of guidelines and policy/procedure descriptions which guide and support the provision of services.
Recommendation of a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide services and/or care. Conducts interviews and hires appropriate clinical staff. Negotiates salary.
Determination of the qualifications and competence of department personnel who provide patient care services and are not licensed independent practitioners.
Continuous assessment and improvement of the performance of care and services provided.Maintenance of Quality Control Programs and Process Improvement, QA
Maintain surveillance of state regulations regarding registration requirements for radiation producing equipment across all campuses and physician practices.
Maintain control of regulatory and CNV accreditation mandates, as appropriate
Secure all accreditations required by CMS and State
Orientation and continuing in-service education for staff
Coordination of all aspects of MRI Safety, including staff education
Develops operational budgets for assigned departments
Maintains operational budgets, evaluate and negotiate capital equipment needs
Responsible for productivity and financial goals of assigned departments
Works with finance in development of proforma as required
Participates in strategic planning as appropriate
Responsible for payroll and specific HR functions as it pertains to management of employees
Recommendations for space and other resources as necessary
