- Assisting in the planning and design of transportation-related facilities
- Supporting Senior Staff in a variety of tasks in the field of transportation design
- Developing roadway geometry
- Preparing construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Developing technical reports
- Developing drainage and utility designs
- Conducting field visits during design or construction
- Participating in client and public meetings
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
- 0-5+ years experience in the field of transportation engineering
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and able to thrive in a busy environment with multiple assignments
- The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational skills
- Demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office and design software such as MicroStation and OpenRoads
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred

Job DescriptionATCS is seeking a highly motivated, multi-faceted junior-level Transportation (Roadway Design) Engineer to join our team. This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of 3 days per week required onsite in the Timonium, MD office and up to 2 days working remotely.
This position will be focused primarily on roadway design and perform a variety of tasks at the direction of a project manager or other senior staff related to transportation design for public agencies (SHA, MDTA, County DOTs, etc.). The diversity of responsibilities and actual tasks require a flexible mindset and cooperative team-oriented, can-do attitude to support our project teams, the design department, and ATCS.
