    Job DetailsJob LocationKing Road - Malvern, PADescriptionMalvern Treatments Centers is currently seeking a full time Nurse Manager for their King Road location in Malvern, PA The Nurse Manager position is a full time, benefit eligible managerial position


    Position Summary:
    To organize and administer individualized nursing care to patients.

    Provides standards of nursing care as directed by medical staff and in accordance with the multidisciplinary treatment plan objectives, policies, and procedures and the Nurse Practice Act.

    Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Assists Director of Nursing in ensuring the quality and efficiency of nursing practice at Malvern Treatment Centers.


    Summary of Essential Position Functions:
    Promotes the safety/health and well-being of patients.
    Assumes the responsibility for the nursing unit and maintains a smooth work flow on all shifts. Observes, coaches, orients and evaluates nursing staff.
    Works with pharmacy and pharmacy coordinator to provide quality pharmacy services at reasonable cost. Works closely with medical director to provide quality patient care. Participates in the Performance Enhancement process, attending meetings and participating on task forces as directed. Promotes a positive environment in the nursing department.
    Promotes a high quality of customer service in the nursing department. Administers and accounts for medications and controlled drugs in the appropriate place. Orders new medications and replaces stock medications. At least annually, performs DEA narcotics audit.
    Responds to and directs emergency situations as necessary. Oversees and assists in providing instruction for patients, including explanation of procedures, treatments, medications. Provides educational literature to patients and meets with them individually.
    Provides for patient safety through preventative measures.
    Implements fire safety, infection control and isolation procedures when appropriate, including disposal of hazardous waste.
    Responds to and directs emergency situations when necessary. Demonstrates ability to implement internal and external disaster plans.
    Oversees and assists in providing instruction for patients, including explanation of procedures, treatments, and medications. Provides educational literature to patients and meets with them individually.
    Responds to and implements special precautions/interventions for suicidal, homicidal, or aggressive patients until patient can be transferred.
    Delegates duties to staff members appropriately after assessing patients' needs and varying skill level of staff members.

    Acts as a resource person regarding patient care, specialty areas (setting up consults & for study results).Prepares biweekly scheduling for the entire nursing department.

    Follows all infection control practices.
    Prepares and certifies the accuracy of the midnight census.
    Other functions as assigned.


    QualificationsQualifications:
    To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    Reasonable accommodations may Education and/or Experience:
    Current licensure as a nurse in PA. Clinical experience in the treatment of addiction is preferred. Current CPR certification. Knowledge of Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Program and Commission of Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities standards.


    Technical/Computer Skills:

    Ability to work in a supportive, caring and non-judgmental manner with staff and patients to gain confidence and cooperation with patients Ability to care plan and identify appropriate nursing interventions.

    Microsoft Office Proficient. EMR experience preferred.


    Work Environment and Hazards:
    No hazardous conditions. Protected from weather conditions. Risk of exposure to communicable diseases. Possible exposure to intoxicated, disruptive and agitated patients.

    Light work - lifting 25 lbs maximum. Involves sitting and a certain amount of walking and standing occasionally to carry out job functions.
