    As Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator you will be responsible for supporting the GEO-US Divisions Supply Chain through execution of purchasing, inventory management, logistics, and warehousing under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Warehousing & Logistics:

    • Ensure that material issues, receipts, and movements are captured in the ERP system
    • Manage the raw material and finished goods inventories at all locations
    • Negotiate rates with carrier representatives and negotiate special freight quotes as required.
    • Responsible for the organization and layout of the Warehouse and outside storage areas
    • Coordinate all inbound shipments

    Inventory Management:

    • Manage inventory levels in all US warehouses based on demand forecasts and actual demand
    • Conduct regular review of min/max levels.
    • Review, approve, and maintain all Mill Certificates from suppliers as required
    • Maintain an updated MSDS file for all materials purchased
    • Actively participate in regular inventory counts.
    • Ensure stock codes are established and configured as required.
    • Work with Project Managers to determine and deliver upon location specific inventory requirements

    Purchasing:

    • Execute procurement transactions according to Layfield procedures and established supply agreements
    • Negotiate best value pricing with suppliers.
    • Coordinate transport of materials from origin to destination.
    • Investigate NCRs
    • Assist production, field operations, marketing, and sales staff in identifying sources for required materials
    • Participate in strategic sourcing and other Corporate Supply Chain initiatives as occasionally required
    • Solicit material quotes and freight quotes as required
    • Maintain supplier pricing data
    • Back up responsibilities for Supply Chain Manager as required
    • Other duties as requested.

    Core Competencies:

    Executing supply chain transactions accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment using both ERP systems and manual processes in order to support sales and manufacturing operations. Negotiating favorable supply terms while building and maintaining strong supplier relationships and applying exemplary business ethic. Multitasking and prioritizing tasks. Ensuring materials are in the right place at the right time, in the right quantity and lowest total cost. Organizing supply chain information using ERP systems, spreadsheets, and other systems. Communicating professionally, in both written and verbal mediums, to all levels within and outside of the organization.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Working knowledge of Syspro ERP system.

    Driven, self-starter with superb interpersonal skills.

    Independent but able to work well within a team environment.

    High degree of competence in written and oral communication.

    Strong and flexible negotiating skills.

    Ability to analyze data, establish trends and draw logical conclusions.

    Ability to solve problems independently

    Sound knowledge of purchasing, logistics, and inventory management best practices.

    Experience in purchasing, inventory management, and logistics

    Working knowledge of manufacturing and/or construction industry

    Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office.

    Knowledge of warehouse equipment and packaging and shipping standards.

    Formal Education:

    Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience. Supply chain designation preferred (CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, etc)

    Number of Years Experience:

    Three (3) years combined experience in purchasing, inventory management, and logistics.

    Salary: $48, $58,000.00 per year
