The Department of Orthopaedics at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking post-doctoral fellows to join a team of highly productive musculoskeletal researchers. Candidates with a PhD in biological and biomedical sciences or related fields with prior training in cell & molecular biology, genetics and genome sciences are particularly targeted. Experience with cell culture models, mouse models, and genome editing are highly desirable. The ability to work with mice will be integral to this project. Successful candidates will be working on funded basic and translational projects focused on musculoskeletal related diseases. Our ideal candidates would be seeking a future research career in musculoskeletal research, in academia. A good publication record is required, and any prior experience with grant writing is a plus. Career advancement opportunities through application to foundation or training grants will be highly encouraged as part of fellows' mentorship plan.
Essential Qualifications:
Eligible candidates should have a PhD or equivalent.
Candidates must be capable of independently designing and performing experiments with appropriate training and minimal supervision.
Candidates should have Effective communication skills, self-motivated with a strong work ethic Candidates should have a proven ability to disseminate their results in peer reviewed publications and presentations.
Candidates need to be eligible to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working in the skeletal field. Priority will be given to individuals with a strong background in skeletal biology, epigenetics and/or systems biology.
The appointment will be within the Emory Musculoskeletal Research Center in the Department of Orthopaedics, Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta GA. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, following the NIH guidelines for post-doctoral fellows.
