    Challenges You Will Solve

    The Collections Specialist will be a key member of the Accounting team and will work closely with our Sales department to provide a first class experience for our customers. In this role your primary responsibility will be ensuring the Company's customers adhere to our contractual payment terms and to help facilitate timely collections on the Company's accounts receivable balances. The role may also include performing billing reviews, cash applications, invoicing, customer communication, and AR reporting and reconciling. The ideal candidate will collaborate well with others, have exceptional attention to detail, experience with customer interaction from a collections viewpoint, and emanate a service focused mindset. The position will report directly to the Company's Accounting Manager.

    What You'll Do

    • Ensure customer account balances due to the Company are paid timely.
    • Contacting clients through emails and phone calls.
    • Developing a collection process that helps in exceeding the company's financial goals.
    • Creating repayment plans, if necessary.
    • Starting legal action to recover debts, when necessary.
    • Proposing appropriate bad debt reserves based on the status of collection efforts on specific accounts.
    • Prepare regular readouts on past due accounts to management.
    • Collaborate closely with the sales and customer success teams to utilize internal resources to supplement collection efforts.
    • Apply payments against customer accounts.
    • Assist customers in reconciling past due accounts.
    • Participate in the customer on-boarding process, including potential Dunn & Bradstreet reviews, credit checks, portal set-up, etc.
    • Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to set deadlines.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer questions related to billing, invoicing and payments through emails and phone calls.
    • Investigate and resolve customer inquiries.
    • Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
    • Assist with month end closing.

    What You'll Bring

    • At least 3 years of experience with collections and customer interactions.
    • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
    • Excellent customer service skills with an ability to handle and resolve customer and in-company inquiries and issues.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
    • Demonstrate professionalism and integrity.
    • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.

    Targeted base salary range: $62,000 - $67,000 + bonus eligibility and equity depending on experience

    *Team is in the office Tuesdays and Thursdays as available
