    Structural Engineer - residential & commercial engineering services company

    Central Houston, Texas

    (Onsite)

    Our client, a professional engineering, surveying and planning services company headquartered in Texas is looking for a Structural Engineer to join their team.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Provide design for structural components necessary for the development of a project
    • Perform structural wood and steel calculations for commercial and residential projects
    • Perform reinforced concrete calculations for building slabs, spread footings, retaining walls etc.
    • Correctly apply national codes and standards such as IRC, IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, and AISC
    • Knowledge of updates on new engineering processes, techniques, and IMS and standards.
    • Ensure that effective methods and design/engineering techniques are used
    • Provide technical guidance to co-workers
    • Contribute to a team environment by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner
    • Works autonomously without direct supervision
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
    • P.E. designation in Texas preferred. Will consider E.I.T.
    • Strong working knowledge of design codes such as IRC, IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, and AISC
    • 6 plus years of experience residential and commercial engineering experience
    • Interface and communicate skills with clients and project team members
    • Ability and willingness to quickly change work assignments
    • Proficient in using analytical software and have experience using AutoCAD, RISA & Microsoft Office Suite
