    You are a clinical expert in Critical Care seeking a unique and rewarding opportunity. We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Clinical Specialist to join our Quality and Nursing Practice team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.

    This role offers a pivotal position in shaping the future of patient care in Critical Care.

    Position Overview:

    The Critical Care Clinical Specialist serves as a clinical expert and healthcare provider, educator, collaborator, consultant, leader, and researcher for a specific patient population or specialty area.

    This specialist provides consultation to address complex patient care issues and offers guidance on the prevention and management of patient care practices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Serves as a collaborative source of clinical expertise and professional advice, developing and maintaining nursing standards and policies.
    • Participates in the assessment, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of clinical services for a designated patient population.
    • Provides expertise and support for health care surveys and regulatory reviews, including those from local, regional, and national entities.
    • Participates in risk management and incorporates evidence into all clinical activities.
    • Led multidisciplinary projects aimed at improving hospital performance in areas including infection prevention, safety, compliance, and nursing practice.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's and Master's degree in Nursing (Required).
    • Doctoral degree in Nursing, Education, or Healthcare Administration (Preferred).
    • Active DC RN License.
    • 5 or more years of progressively more responsible job-related experience in Nursing.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
