    Genius Talent has partnered with a leading heavy building materials company headquartered in Norfolk, VA. As a Senior Tax Accountant you will be a crucial member of the team.

    In this dynamic role you will dive into the intricate world of federal, international, and state tax compliance and planning.

    Your expertise will shine as you calculate annual and semi-annual tax provisions and deftly navigate income tax and other tax audits while reporting to the Director.

    Responsibilities
    Conduct in-depth research on tax matters for management review and analyze the tax implications of potential transactions.
    Skillfully prepare accurate annual and semi-annual tax provisions.
    Promptly address tax correspondence, encompassing income, franchise, and excise taxes.
    Efficiently oversee and maintain the tax files, ensuring timely filing of returns, payments, and other obligations.
    Thoroughly investigate and address inquiries related to payroll taxes.
    Stay abreast of evolving tax laws and communicate pertinent changes effectively.

    Requirements
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, with a strong focus on Accounting principles.
    Demonstrated proficiency with 3-5 years of professional experience in tax accounting.
    Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
    Possess a proactive attitude, fostering a collaborative and team-oriented work approach.
    Self-motivated and goal-oriented, dedicated to meeting established deadlines.
    Committed to fostering internal relationships across diverse organizational sectors, leveraging collective knowledge and resources.
    Assist in the facilitation of tax audits.

    Contribute to various tax projects, such as transfer pricing and R&D credits, with a potential for involvement in provision automation implementation.

    CPA certification or CPA eligibility is highly preferred.
