Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is seeking a

Subject Matter Expert (SME) FPGA Design Engineer

to support anElectro-Optical (EO) / Infra-Red (IR) Mission Systems team in Huntington Beach, CA.

The selected candidate for this position will help lead the development of next-generation electronics for optical sensing systems for airborne and space platforms.

Key Duties:

Develop and optimizefirmware for FPGAs, running advanced algorithms in firmware for real-time data processing.
Design and optimizeprocessing and firmware architectures.
Write and optimize HDL code for FPGAs.
Provide technical leadership of FPGA development teams, including task assignment, schedule inputs, and status reporting.
Provide technical oversight and guidance, including mentoring and coaching team members.
Technical reports and presentations to customers and senior leadership.
Support multiple programs and multiple departments/business units.
Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

:

Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance.
10 or more years of experience developing firmware for embedded applications (FPGA, etc.).
Experience with integrating and testing firmware/FPGA design with hardware and software.
Experience with developing and executing tests to validate system functionality against specifications.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

Active TS/SCI Clearance.
15 or more years of experience developing firmware for embedded applications (FPGA, etc.).
5 or moreyears of experience leading engineering teams.
Experience with the design and implementation of real-time software, gateware, firmware for digital communications, and/or signal processing algorithms.
Experience with project management duties (e.g. status reporting, schedule and budget development and analysis, risk/opportunity assessment, etc.).
Experience with HDL coding for Xilinx FPGAs using Vivado.
Experience Autocoding from Simulink.
Cybersecurity experience.
