    About the Tea Business

Unilever is proud of its Tea business, the biggest in the world, with world class purpose driven brands such as Lipton, PG tips and Pukka. Recently, Unilever decided to separate the Tea business to ensure it can best achieve its potential. Unilever is currently reviewing several options for separation, including a demerger, an initial public offering, a disposal or through partnership models. The Tea businesses in India and Indonesia, and the partnership interests in the ready-to-drink Tea joint ventures will be retained.

The balance of the Tea brands and geographies and all Tea estates, with generated revenues of €2 billion in 2019, is growing and profitable with proven potential both pre- and post-COVID-19. As a standalone entity, the Tea company remains number one in the world and is even better positioned to lead the industry and take full advantage of the opportunities in the category, with more focus and entrepreneurship driving greater growth and value.

The current vision for the Tea company is to champion a tastier, healthier, more sustainable world of plant-based drinking. Purposeful thinking will be the core anchor of the business, its brands as well as its culture, and enables simple and agile decision making, supports an entrepreneurial mindset and is driven by passion for our consumers.

As we move through this journey towards separation, we are seeking employees with a passion for exciting entrepreneurial experiences, who want to pursue unique career opportunities and have a desire to be an integral part in building the bright future of this plant-based company.

As an Associate Shopper Marketing Manager for the Grocery channel, you'll work to extend brand strategy and activation platforms for customers through the development of Shopper Marketing (SM) programs that will drive profitable volume and equity. You will analyze and measure all SM programs by understanding business results, projected investments and industry insights. The ability to identify business building opportunities for Grocery customers will help set the strategy to drive differentiated yet efficient and effective programming.

    Your Role:

    • As a member of the Tea Division shopper marketing team, you'll focus on the development and execution of world-class integrated and collaborative shopper marketing plans. These events should deliver on the brand Jobs-to-be-Done as well as the customer's unique positioning to fit the objectives of this retailer. Programs should drive category growth, promote cross-category conversion and be profitable for both the Tea Division and the Customer.
    • Responsible for all SM field-based programs from start to finish including annual planning, writing agency briefs, customer presentations, creative reviews, program evaluation, and overall agency guidance.
    • Develop strong relationships with key marketing contacts at the Customer as well as across Tea Division Brand and Sales teams to deliver against brand/portfolio objectives.
    • Maintain timely flow of calendars and reports, proposals and project estimates, and program evaluations. Provide point-of-view on appropriate spending against retailer-initiated marketing initiatives.
    • Evaluate key Shopper Marketing programs upon post-program completion. These findings/recommendations are a comprehensive view of the program performance, return on investment value, sales results, and include relevant market information. These program recaps will be shared with the Tea Division sales team, brand teams, and Shopper Marketing.
    • Manage agency partners to ensure delivery on requirements outlined in briefs and that they are effectively delivering on all account management responsibilities (e.g. program and financial management).
    • You're a dot connector: Working on the Shopper team with a myriad of purpose-led brands requires managing a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders; we need you to ensure the right dots are connected inside and outside the company (e.g. 3rd parties, agency, customer, CPG's, etc.).
    • You love to win, and have fun doing it: Working directly with the customer and brand teams, you'll find creative solutions to continue to drive the business in the constantly changing competitive landscape.
    • You're a story teller: A critical element of our plans is the art of compelling storytelling as means to educate and inspire, not only the Guest, but the retailer in support of our campaigns. We need your creativity to build and deliver compelling stories.
    • You're a changemaker: This is an integrated role where you can fully embrace C4G (Connected for Growth) and work on both short and long-term strategies. You'll work on innovative solutions that will change our shopper's behavior.
    • You're a culture & change champion: Think differently – these are ever changing, competitive times with purpose-led brands in a unique environment. Strive to find more efficient, effective, and new ways to think about the same problem.

    Required Experience:

    • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, MBA a plus.
    • 3-5 years' experience in development of brand business objectives and marketing strategies.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the consumer-packaged goods industry, mass retail channel and account specific marketing. Understanding of promotional tactics, process flow, execution and fulfillment processes.
    • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Experience in digital and eCommerce marketing and understanding of consumer behavior in this space.
    • Creative thinking to approach things differently than historical plan.
    • Strong communication and influencing skills.
    • Attention to detail, planning and preparation.
    • Highly organized; able to multi-task and communicate with numerous touch points.
    • Lead role in identifying and presenting new opportunities to Customer Development, Marketing and the Customer.
    • Ability to fully collaborate with Shopper Marketing and Customer Development teams as well as with the Retailer; is driven to achieve mutual objectives as one collective team.
