    **Overview**

    Axient is seeking a Seeking a **Modeling and Simulation Engineer** to support our government customer in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The team supports the Air Force Research Laboratorys (AFRL) Rapid Architecture Prototyping and Integration Development (RAPID) laboratory. RAPID is executing the following to ease and accelerate the pivot to USSF Future Force Design:

    + Experimentation & Validation

    + Modeling & Simulation

    + Rapid Development

    + Cooperative Agreements

    + Field Testing

    RAPID provides options that widen the trade space for Force Design courses of action by developing and assessing innovative technologies.

    **Responsibilities**

    **Job Description:**

    The **Modeling and Simulation Engineer** is a key contributor to the mission of RAPID. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in applied modeling and simulation, with a keen interest in research and development. The Modeling and Simulation Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and running simulations and models to analyze and predict the behavior of complex systems, including networks. They will work closely with other engineers to develop, test, and validate new models and simulations. The ideal candidate for this position should have a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field. They should have experience with numerical simulations and modeling, including experience with a variety of software packages. Experience with **Model Based Systems Engineering and/or Digital Engineering is a plus** . They should also be able to work effectively in a team environment and have excellent communication and organizational skills. This position requires an individual who is comfortable working independently and has the ability to multitask.

    **Responsibilities:**

    + Develop and maintain simulations and models to analyze and predict the behavior of complex systems, including networks.

    + Work closely with scientists and engineers to develop, test, and validate new models and simulations.

    + Use a variety of software packages to conduct numerical simulations and modeling.

    + Work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with other team members.

    + Organize and prioritize tasks to effectively complete projects and initiatives.

    + Work independently and manage several tasks simultaneously.

    **Qualifications**

    **Education & Experience Requirements:**

    + Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field. To be acceptable, the curriculum must be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum.

    + 1 or more years experience in in Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (MS&A) or Digital Engineering.

    + Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills

    **Preferred Skills:**

    + Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience and/or Digital Engineering.

    + 5 or more years experience in in Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (MS&A) or Digital Engineering.

    **Other Requirements:**

    + Proof of U.S. citizenship

    + Must be able to complete and pass a U.S. government background investigation

    + Must be able to attain and hold a DoD Top Secret security clearance and handle/safeguard sensitive classified information in accordance with regulations. Applicants for positions which require a US government security clearance or access must meet eligibility requirements that most often include US citizenship.

    **Preferences:**

    + Current security clearance, Top Secret

    + 5 years total professional experience

    + Masters degree in engineering, computer science, or related field

    + Ability to work in a tight-knit team environment as well as self-driven for independent tasks
