    The RN Pre-op/PACU is a Registered Nurse that provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies.

    The RN Pre-op/PACU provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations. The RN Pre-op/PACU supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The RN Pre-op/PACU reports to the Manager of Peri-operative Services.

    Shift:
    Full time: Days, Shift TBD, Call M-F until 11pm, no holidays or weekends at this time

    Pre-Op/PACU Nurse to administer diligent care to outpatients via monitoring, assessment, intervention, and continuous reassessment.

    The post-anesthesia care unit nurse (PACU nurse) will provide care for post-operative patients recovering from anesthesia, including general, regional, and local.


    The Clinical Nurse reflects the mission, vision, and values of Indiana University Health, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

    The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

    The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency.

    The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

    Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.

    Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.

    Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
    Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
    Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
