- Installing, testing, and using various software packages for cryoEM and cryoET image processing written in Python and MATLAB.
- Single-particle cryoEM and in situ cryoET data processing.
- Malaria parasite tissue culture maintenance and large-scale growths for structural studies.
- Single-particle cryoEM and in situ cryoET sample preparation.
- Preparing figures and text for presentations and publications.
- Proper documentation of all experiments and data processing activities.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.
- Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program. One year of related experience or equivalent in education, training, and/or experience.
- Strong previous experience with Python, MATLAB, and/or C++ is preferred.
- Previous experience in negative stain TEM, cryoEM, cryoET, or cryoFIB-SEM is a plus.
- Previous experience with protein biochemistry, structural biology, molecular biology, and/or tissue culture is a plus.

Position Summary
The Department of Microbiology and Immunology is looking to hire a Technician A to work in the laboratory of Dr. Chi-Min Ho. The candidate will be technical support staff for the Principal Investigator and other lab investigators, as needed.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the technician will provide assistance with projects involving single-particle cryoEM structure determination of native membrane protein complexes purified directly from malaria parasites and cryoET of the host-pathogen interface in parasite-infected red blood cells.
