    King & Sykes is a values-driven staffing firm focused on partnering with investment banks, private equity, and alternative asset investors who lead in sustainable investing, and their portfolio of companies.

    We are seeking a Project HV Electrical Engineer to join a team in the brownfield renewable development space. The main goal is to repurpose and rehabilitate existing infrastructure or land previously used for non-renewable purposes. As the HV Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the development, engineering, and construction of the company's brownfield renewable energy projects. Your primary role will involve assisting in conceptual and final project designs for construction.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide Electrical HV Engineering Support
      • Develop detailed quality control checks for physical and P&C designs, as well as electrical studies
      • Conduct electrical engineering studies including grounding protection, lighting protection, AC panel and station service sizing, DC panel and battery sizing, voltage drop, and CT saturation
      • Evaluate the feasibility of substation, gen-tie, and BESS layouts
      • Assist in preparing interconnection applications, reviewing deliverables, and negotiating technical points with interconnection utilities
      • Coordinate with independent engineers and project partners for technical due diligence
      • Review engineering deliverables such as preliminary, 10%, 30%, and IFC design
      • Monitor design schedules and ensure timely completion of critical engineering tasks
    • Offer Procurement and Construction Support
      • Participate in developing and reviewing project-specific construction, engineering, and equipment specifications
      • Review competitive bids for owner procured equipment and manage suppliers throughout the engineering and commissioning process
      • Oversee construction progress through remote monitoring and on-site inspections, resolving field issues
      • Attend on-site and coordination meetings with construction contractors and interconnection utilities
      • Conduct factory/equipment inspections and witness factory acceptance testing for major materials
      • Stay updated on industry technology trends in solar, storage, hydrogen, etc.

    Experience and Skills:

    • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field
    • Knowledge of power systems, preferably gained through coursework, job roles, and internships
    • 2-7 years of relevant work experience
    • Experience with HV/MV electrical infrastructure such as substations, switchyards, transmission lines, and transformers
    • Familiarity with interpreting and applying industry standards and codes
