Qualifications :
4-year College degree (Required)
(Must be graduated)
in a sports-related field. Special Olympics experience is a plus. This is
not
a remote position, this is an
in-office
position with some travel. 3 Weekends a year for State Games are required.
Summary:
Implements and manages programs, training, and competitions in order to achieve quality growth by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Administrative duties 25%
Manages and oversees programs at the area and local levels in Areas 7, 8, 10 & Areas).
Responsible for assisting in the collection, reviewing, data entry and maintenance of paperwork for all State Games in the following Area's: 7 and 8
Attends one GOC meeting annually for Winter Games, Summer Games, and Fall Games.
Write submit and notate 4 grants weekly (192 per year) and receives funding from 3.
Schedule and make 4 annual presentations with a Global Messenger by December 1st.
Responsible for activating and tracking the Young Athlete and Head Start Programs.
Assists programs, management teams, outreach, accreditation, competitions, paperwork, training, evaluation and other duties as needed.
Responsible for troubleshooting problems that arise in all areas.
Speaks at public events, participates at event booths, coordinates mailings, TV and radio ads as needed.
Evaluates competitions, meetings and progress of agencies.
Responsible for communicating with and the training of the Local Coordinators and Management Team members.
Responsible for Outreach/Growth of Programs, per the Strategic Plan, by developing, registering and training programs,
recruiting/registering
athletes, families, volunteers and unified sports partners and securing training facilities as needed.
Responsible for promoting, strengthening and increasing the number of accredited programs.
Supports the Program Department activities.
Implement Strategic and other SOGA driven plans as it coincides with your position and with your department.
Update Special Olympics Georgia statistics page monthly.
Some travel as well as night and weekend commitments as needed.
Supports state games and events as needed.
Other duties may be assigned.
Physical Demands:
The SOGA team member is occasionally required to lift 50 pounds or more.
