    With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

    ~ This position is located at the Aiken-Barnwell Mental Health Center, 1135 Gregg Highway, Aiken, SC

    Responsible for the oversight of psychiatric and clinical services at ABMHC including the supervision of medical staff, residents, and provision of treatment.

    Interfaces with the community as Medical Director.
    Assumes medical responsibility for the medical/psychiatric programs of the Center.

    Ensures treatment planning meetings occur to provide and document needed medical input into the course of client treatment, and that treatment plans address the strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences of the client.

    Promotes the "Recovery Model' and cultural sensitivity throughout the Center's programs and services.
    Provides psychiatric/medical services to clients.
    Documents services in accordance with DMH Quality Assurance, Medicaid, and Compliance standards.
    Monitors and follows-up on Risk Management issues and client complaints related to medical services.
    Updates policies annually and as needed.
    Adheres to Compliance standards, CARF standards, and policies, procedures, and standards of ABMHC and DMH.
    Licensed to practice medicine in SC. Completion of full residency (4 years) in psychiatry and three (3) years experience in psychiatric programs, two of which must have been in
    community mental health services. Board certification in psychiatry required. Computer knowledge and skills.

    Responsible for ABMHC/SCDMH policies and procedures.
