    Job Summary: A member of Birches' senior administrative team, the Director of Systems & Operations (DSO) is responsible for a variety of administrative, educational, community, and facilities functions in support of the daily life of the School. The DSO manages the School's student data systems and is responsible for the efficient and effective management of operating resources, including spaces, materials, equipment, information, and service providers. In addition, the DSO is the primary contact and support person for families during the school day for matters related to student absence, early dismissal, illness, and injury, and maintains up-to-date health policy and guidance protocols for the school.

    The DSO has decision-making authority that crosses several critical areas of the School, including administration, finance, technology, and systems. The range of knowledge and responsibility allows this individual to be an asset to community building, strategic planning, and growth of the School. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in relationship management, demonstrate a strong interest in participating in the life of a highly engaging elementary and middle school, and contribute to furthering Birches' mission . This is a full-time, 12-month position with a start date in summer, 2024.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage the School's data management systems (SIS, portal), Google Education, and Smart Tuition, among others.
    • Oversee scheduling of spaces, ordering and stocking of supplies, educational materials, equipment, etc.
    • Maintain relationships with facilities service providers and the Town of Lincoln.
    • Foster positive communication and engagement with families.
    • Assist in the planning, organization, and oversight of school events.
    • Promote Birches' mission, advancing awareness and support of progressive, nature-based education. Qualifications:
      • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, project management capabilities, and leadership orientation.
      • Detail-oriented with organizational and problem-solving skills, and able to manage deadline-oriented projects.
      • Strong proficiency and experience with databases and data management systems.
      • Excellent written communication skills.
      • Ability to be sensitive to and respond to the needs/concerns of students, faculty, staff, and families.
      • Possess a strong sense of humor and the ability to be flexible and spontaneous.
