Job Description

The Prisma Health Physician plays a crucial role in delivering top-notch medical services to patients under Prisma Health-University Medical Group.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical and/or non-surgical procedures for patients depending on the specialty
• Educate patients and families on wellness, prevention, and early detection
• Provide necessary consultations, referrals, and follow-up care
• Exercise sound medical judgment
• Order studies, tests, and ancillary services
• Utilize electronic medical records effectively
• Collaborate with Medical Director and other healthcare providers as needed
• Engage in quality improvement and continuing education programs
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professionalism standards

Supervisory/Management Responsibility

This role involves supervising team members with responsibilities including budget management, hiring/terminations, and performance appraisals.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited institution and completed residency with additional years of experience as applicable.

Certifications/Licenses

Board Certification or Eligibility in specialty, licensed to practice in South Carolina, and current BLS certification.

Required Skills

Proficient in medical principles, pharmacological treatments, and strong communication skills.

Work Schedule

Day shifts based in the United States of America.

Located at Laurens County Medical Campus.
