Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Data Scientist and Analytics Intern to join our dynamic team. This position is ideal for a Master's degree student recent graduate who is passionate about leveraging data to drive business solutions and insights. As part of our professional services firm, you will work closely with senior technical experts and project managers to analyze complex data sets and contribute to strategic projects across our internal projects to enhance performance. This role can be based in Houston, TX or be done remotely.

A Day in the Life (Responsibilities):

• Data Analysis and Modeling: Assist in the development and implementation of statistical models and algorithms to analyze large datasets and solve complex business problems.
• Data Mining and Extraction: Utilize advanced data mining techniques to extract valuable insights from structured and unstructured data.
• Visualization and Reporting: Create visualizations to present data insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders. Prepare reports summarizing analysis results and recommendations.
• Work collaboratively with team members across different departments to support data-driven decision-making and ensure the integration of analytical solutions into organizational processes.
• Participate in research to evaluate new methodologies or tools that could enhance analysis capabilities.
• Provide analytical support for various projects, ensuring accuracy and relevance of the insights provided while working cross functionally.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience with entry level machine learning, java, Python or R, data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau and high level expertise in excel
• Experience working in database management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be comfortable working on teams
