    Description

    The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services is actively seeking a Staff Psychiatrist to be a part of our Clinical Services team at Clarks Summit State Hospital.

    This position that s erves as Treatment Team Director and is responsible for the psychiatric care of all patients in an assigned unit.

    As a Staff Psychiatrist, you are responsible for providing a thorough workup of all patients under your care.

    Additional duties include performing daily rounds, attending and conducting Team meetings, attending and participating in assigned hospital committee meetings, responding and assuming a leadership role during psychiatric emergencies, and responding to medical emergencies.

    Full-time employment, 37.Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
    Possible evening, weekend, and holiday on-call
    Overtime and travel may be required when necessary.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    Minimum Experience and

    Training Requirements:
    ~ Completion of a residency or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.

    All candidates must possess a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.


    Legal Requirements:
    A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
    This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
