    Baptist Health Care - LPN Position


    The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for carrying out nursing tasks in the care of patients under the guidance of a registered nurse. Additionally, the LPN serves as a unit coordinator for the department.

    Responsibilities

    • Assess and address patient and family needs under the supervision of an RN.
    • Implement medical care plans and nursing procedures as required.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care.
    • Operate order communication systems and enter orders into the computer.
    • Transcribe physician orders in accordance with hospital policies.
    • Facilitate patient transfers and discharges.
    • Ensure procurement of necessary supplies for the unit.
    • Maintain current certifications and licensure, including IV therapy certification.
    • Evaluate patient care and responses to meet quality standards.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education:

    • Technical Diploma/Certificate in Practical Nursing.
    • IV Therapy Certification.

    Licenses and Certifications:

    • LPN License in State of Florida or eligible compact state.
    • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) from American Heart Association.
    • National Institutes Of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) within 90 Days.
    • ACLS Provider (ACLS) from American Heart Association within 1 Year.
    • CPI within 1 Year.

    Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

    • Proficiency in acute care nursing.
    • Strong multitasking, prioritizing, and organizational skills.
    • Complete IV therapy certification.
