    POSITION SUMMARY:

    To be fully engaged in providing Quality, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by:

    • Following all HF, hospital, and departmental protocols professionally and in a timely manner.
    • Mentoring the technical development of co-workers and students within a team concept.

    PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Maintain a safe environment for patients, team members, and yourself.
    • Verify two forms of patient identification on every patient, every time.
    • Perform a time-out process before starting any invasive procedure.
    • Adhere to ALARA principles of radiation safety.
    • Familiar with emergency equipment/supplies and their usage.
    • Understand the Health First Emergency Kardex and responsibilities during emergent codes.
    • Responsible for hurricane preparedness and associated duties.
    • Follow Infection Control policies and procedures.
    • Effectively document and communicate required information.
    • Report equipment malfunctions promptly.
    • Accurately complete all required documentation/forms.
    • Review exam orders before performing an exam.
    • Obtain patient history accurately.
    • Follow procedure protocols and produce quality images.
    • Properly position patients and use appropriate techniques.
    • Ensure cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms and equipment.
    • Participate in quality initiatives and offer improvement suggestions.
    • Accept additional responsibilities to assist in reaching departmental goals.
    • Attend staff meetings/in-services as necessary.
    • Review and sign off on staff meeting minutes.
    • Administer medications within the technologist's scope of practice.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    • Graduate of a Radiologic Technology and/or Sonography program or equivalent.
    • Prior Sonography experience preferred.
    • Certifications in Abdomen and OB/GYN desirable.
    • ARDMS or CCI certification desirable for Echo.
    • Registered by ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI status within two years of hire or registry eligible.
    • Cross-trained associates must obtain additional certifications within two years.
    • Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card.
    • Computer skills for optimal technical performance.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to report to department within 30 minutes when on call.
    • Able to wear lead aprons for extended periods.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Able to walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift during shifts.
    • Able to move, lift, or position patients as needed.
    • Able to push necessary equipment and devices.
    • Dependable and flexible in covering shifts.
    • Able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted multiple times daily.
