    Technical Engineer
    Position Overview

    Shaw Industries is looking for a Technical Process Engineer to primarily drive new product/new equipment development efforts as well as continuous improvement initiatives within the production process.

    Responsibilities:

    • Analyze process and performance parameters to improve product efficiency and output. Must be able to set up systems to collect and analyze data as well as implement data-driven solutions.
    • Manage the implementation of any process changes.
    • Develop processing parameters for new products
    • Develop quality specs for all new products.
    • Managing and/or assisting Technical Manager with new developmental projects.
    • Investigate processing and quality problems and implement data-driven solutions.
    • Assist and lead Lean/Kaizen/Six Sigma process and projects.
    • Set-up, coordinate, and monitor SYR (sample yarn run) trials; Also manage the SYR System
    • Lead, assist, and/or support continuous quality improvement efforts.
    • Provide engineering and troubleshooting support to all departments as needed.
    • Act as a resource of technical knowledge about the process for other plant departments
    • Comply with procedures found in SMS and Job Requirement Books.
    • Perform all job duties using safe work methods.
    • Comply with Corporate Absenteeism and Tardiness Policy.
    • Work normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times. Work overtime as needed.
    • Effectively communicate and help enforce department standards for associates.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Department Manager as needed

    Requirements:

    • Required Bachelor's Degree OR 5-7 years of experience in the field
    • Lean 6 Sigma certification or willingness to complete
    • Must possess good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
    • Must be able to work holidays, weekends and overtime as needed. Ability to travel as needed (10-25% travel maximum estimated)
