Description

TEKsystems client in Metro Detroit is needing a WAN Administrator and WAN Planner to join their team. This will be onsite in Metro Detroit and part of a long term indefinite contract.

Description:

In depth experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields
Experience with manufacturing environments, operations, and business practices
Experience with Wireless Technologies and Cellular Services
Experience identifying, investigating & solving problems without supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task; managing multiple tasks
Motivated and self-starter
Ability to communicate effectively with business users and IT professionals including globally distributed teams; the ability to adjust communications appropriately for the audience; work with all levels of management and diverse work groups
Experience and knowledge of routers and switches installation, cabling, loading, configuration, testing, and the development with reporting of various testing scenarios that lead to global production applications.
Experience and knowledge of IPSEC, MPLS, GRE tunnels, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP with multiple areas over variety of WAN transport with deep understanding of BGP protocol and peering.
Experience and extensive knowledge with Cisco Catalyst 9K , 8300, ASR & ISR platforms with execution on Native and SD-WAN environments.
Experience and detailed theoretical understanding of: WAN/LAN Technologies, Cloud technologies, SD-WAN, IPsec, QOS, VoIP, OSPF, LDAP, SMTP, Proxy servers, Load-Balancers and network security protocols
Experienced and knowledge with physical cabling media & connectivity methods Ethernet, Fiber/ Optical, LAB environment testing methodologies,
Experienced and knowledge with performance monitoring tools, packet captures and analysis,
Experienced and knowledge with virtualization, API integration, MPLS, IPv4, IPv6 , Cellular (4G 5G ), preforming hardware and software evaluation based on WAN technologies – application, capacity, life-cycle management that standardize connectivity options, various failover & high availability designs.
Can create, development or validate operational materials and runbooks.
Experienced and knowledge with wide range IP infrastructure applications, e.g. DNS, SMTP, NTP, IMAP, RADIUS, FTP
Understanding of Pivotal Cloud Foundry Azure & Google Cloud Platform
Working knowledge of collaboration tools to work and communicate effectively across teams of various levels - WebEx Teams, MS Teams, Miro and Microsoft Office Suite, Slack
