    The Challenge

    The desirable candidate has a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals in mechanical and electrical equipment, along with excellent communication skills. They should possess a passion, curiosity, and drive to learn and provide technical assistance to optimize energy consumption for commercial customers.

    The Energy Engineer will work under the guidance of the Technical Services & Engineering Manager and/or other staff, reviewing energy efficiency calculations and energy models for commercial projects, performing data acquisition and analysis for internal and external stakeholders, and analyzing billing and utility data using linear and multivariable regression models.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Review energy efficiency calculations and energy models for commercial projects
    • Perform data acquisition and analysis for internal and external stakeholders
    • Analyze billing and utility data using linear and multivariable regression models
    • Provide energy advising customized for commercial customers
    • Perform site visits to conduct building energy audits
    • Write technical summaries and briefs for both technical and non-technical audiences
    • Develop educational material for building owners and the design and construction communities

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering with four years plus (4+) of professional experience in engineering, technical project management or related areas
    • Proficiency in analytical programming language (R, Python) as well as SQL
    • Strong technical, quantitative, and analytic capabilities including technical report writing and advanced spreadsheet development/analysis
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within cross-functional teams
