Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant will provide support to the Controller and will assume most of the general accounting duties for the Company.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Daily bank reconciliations
Daily Positions Report
Importing billing and collection data into QuickBooks
Monitoring AR Cash Collections Reconciliation done by the Accounts Payable Associate
Weekly review of inventory for negative quantities
Bi-weekly payroll entry
Monthly PTO and payroll accruals
Monthly overhead allocation entry
Account Analysis
Preparation of adjusting journal entries
Monthly close checklist attendance
Assistance with audits
Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficient with QuickBooks (desktop), and MS Office products
Familiar with payroll entries
Strong organizational skills
Must be self-directed and able to work independently, while also working well with others
High attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Conscientiousness - Displays an elevated level of effort and commitment towards performing work and demonstrates responsible behavior.
Organization - highly detail oriented, organized, and able to prioritize time management.
Interpersonal skills - Shows courtesy, tact, empathy, cooperation, concern, and politeness to others and relates well to different people.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting
5 or more years accounting experience - fire safety service or other similar industry experience a plus
Experience with inventory management, costing and valuation and cost of goods sold

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
