Job Summary
Under the direction of the Supervisor and Department Management,the Painter receives and completes work orders while maintaining accurate records on
material and labor used; Detects needed repairs on buildings, grounds,
and equipment by following established inspection procedures;
Smothes and prepares surfaces for painting, including sanding and removing old paint;
Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster or other fillers;
Tapes floats finishes textures walls ceilings removes graffiti from interior exterior buildings repairs glass building windows prepares painted signs required campus erects scaffolding sets ladder perform tasks above ground level utilizes computerized maintenance management system SAP work order processing paints surfaces using brushes spray gun paint rollers applies paint cloth brush sponge fingers create special effects stains seals varnishes wood surfaces performs maintenance roof coatings repairs mold pain removal operates tools equipment established safety procedures preventive maintenance ensures safe operating condition follows established techniques job duties lifting climbing stores handles disposes chemicals according to procedures correct unsafe conditions reports supervisor immediately ensures proper use Personal Protective Equipment PPE
