    UNM Food is seeking amotivated customer service expert to serve as Special Events Coordinator to support event duties and sales for the University Club, Championship Golf Course, and conference lodging.

    In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the event sales growth for

    multiple areas and providing onsite event support for special events.
    The Special Events Coordinator will also assist with the daily operations of the University Club. a membership-based operation that serves lunch Monday - Friday, happy hour on Friday afternoon, and eveningand weekend special events.

    As a Special Events Coordinator, you will work closely with the Sales and Event Manager to drive event and conference sales, plan events, and provide onsite support.

    This is a full-time position that requires evening and weekend hours.

    Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
    ·

    Assist in overseeing the daily operations including dining, meetings, and special events.
    ·

    Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed for special events.
    ·

    Recruiting new members and event clients through tactical marketing and sales calls.
    ·

    Assist with driving event sales through marketing, consultation, and touring.
    ·

    Provide event planning assistance and onsite oversight of events.
    ·

    Provide excellent customer service to members and guests.
    ·

    Represent event venuesat trade shows and university information fairs.
    ·

    Assist with creating and approving communications for the University Club.
    ·

    Consult on menu planning for daily buffet and special events.
    ·

    Assist with tracking, reporting, and reconciling event payments and member dues.

    All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

    Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

    Minimum Qualifications

    High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

    Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience in customer service positions.
    Experience in food and beverage operations.
    Proven history of sales experience and revenue growth.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Experience with coordinating vendors and site management.
    Experience with calendar and booking management.
