    *Job Overview:


    Iroquois Bar Corp owns and operates approximately 60 Class 8 vehicles, 10 pickup trucks and approximately 10 pieces of various construction equipment.

    Iroquois is a redi-mix concrete supplier and offers trucking services (dump trucks) for hire. Iroquois is also a General Contractor performing interior select demolition. Iroquois has vehicles stationed at 4 locations and service repair shops at 2 of those locations.


    The main duty of the Fleet Manager is to manage all personnel related to the maintenance of the vehicles and equipment.

    The Fleet Manager should keep detailed records of all services completed, schedule services and PM intervals, ensure fleet is compliant with NYSDOT and FMCSA standards.

    Our ideal candidate would be experienced in heavy truck and equipment repairs and also highly organized and able to think analytically to improve fleet efficiencies.

    *Key Accountabilities
    • Daily:
    • Schedule and delegate preventative maintenance to shop mechanics through work orders.
    • Take incoming phone calls from drivers for emergency roadside service needs and schedule repairs as needed.
    • Oversee mechanics on all shifts handle scheduling of shifts
    • Order parts and get quotes for major repairs as needed
    • Keep accurate records on all equipment repaired, parts used, and estimated costs through Samsara. Oversee all purchases made by shop and discuss with upper management any major repairs that are needed.
    • Assist mechanics if required on intricate or complicated repairs if needed
    • Coordinate vehicle and equipment availability with redi-mix dispatch, trucking dispatch and construction project managers
    • Re-assign drivers into spare vehicles if needed due to pre-trip inspection failure.
    • Insure all work being done follows established safety procedures

    Weekly:

    • Insure weekly schedule is posted and mechanics are aware of changes
    • Inspect shop, and tools /equipment, delegate clean up as needed, remedy unsafe conditions / tools / equipment if required
    • Insure tire program / procedures being followed weekly
    • Order parts and have on hand ahead of time for night shift P.Ms and repairs
    • Communicate and provide office with bills, receipts, etc to ensure everything put into system in timely manner
    • Coordinate taking trucks out of service if needed with trucking and redi-mix managers
    • Insure all locations have proper supplies of consumables for drivers as needed.

    Monthly:

    • Keep all registrations, inspections, permits up to date and keep record of all
    • Review Samsara generated reports and update Operations Manager with fleet status
    • Evaluate fleet and report to Operations Manager any potential upcoming problems or needs
    • Coordinate monthly checks on equipment located on job sites
    • Coordinate and schedule with safety director monthly safety meetings
    • Coordinate and record monthly fuel and oil tank inspections

    Requirements:

    • Drivers License, CDL Class A or B license preferred
    • Safe driving record
    • Pass mandated DOT physical and pre-employment and random drug screen (If CDL holder)
    • Maintain a professional appearance at all times, both personal and company equipment
    *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Working knowledge of the Samsara program to track maintenance.
    • Prior knowledge of the construction industry in preferred
    • Prior knowledge of diagnostic software to assist mechanics with repairs.
    • Create spreadsheets and other electronic tracking documents
    • Flexible work schedule as needed with availability during off hours.
    • Heavy mechanical knowledge, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems, electrical and AC systems, brake and suspension components, etc.
    • Ability to train, mentor and lead new and established team members

    Job Type:
    Full-time


    Pay:
    $80, $120,000.00 per year

    Experience:

    • Mechanic: 5 years (Preferred)
