    Job Summary:

    Plan and coordinate activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming. Provide computer and information systems operations, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines. Assign and review the work of contractor systems analysts, programmers, and other computer-related workers. Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activity.

    Essential Job Functions:

    Relevant experience in some or all of the below fields is desired:

    • Writing operating system scripts and/or COTS word processing, spreadsheet, and database application macros;
    • Writing code in current versions of standard procedural and/or object oriented programming languages;
    • Operating and/or programming relational data base management systems (RDBMS);
    • Translating broad information technology needs into plans and standards (Specific MIL-STD-498 experience is desirable);
    • Executing advanced and administrative operating system operations;
    • Performing a variety of operations in client/server and/or cluster environment;
    • Providing advanced technical hardware and operating system software knowledge and recommendations to system designers, planners, and owners/operators. Advising application operations and database teams on operating systems issues and challenges in order to capture, store, maintain,
    • Some travel maybe required. This may entail inspection trips to the Fleet Readiness Centers (FRCs) or vendor's plants. It may require management of research and development, test and evaluation of work in the Navy and industry laboratories under NAVAIR funded programs.

    Requirements:

    Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:

    MS or MA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or Mathematics is required. A BS and additional years may substitute for an MS.

    Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

    At least ten (10) years of relevant experience to the essential job functions listed above.

    Physical Requirements:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit, walk, see, hear, and feel. Occasionally will need to lift and move up to 50lbs. Moderate lab environment temperature and noise level. Must be able to interpret data, information, and documents. Can learn and apply new information and skills.
