Job Title: Custodian (Evening Shift)

Reports To: Assistant Director of Facilities & Administration

Location: The Heights at Montclair State University, Montclair, NJ

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate and inclusive benefits

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM), based in Birmingham, Alabama, focuses on managing housing communities affiliated with universities.

Summary:

Join our team as a Custodian for evening shifts at The Heights at Montclair State University. You'll work to maintain a community of 2,000 resident students. Responsibilities include cleaning various areas, such as restrooms, offices, and common spaces, as well as snow removal, furniture moving, and maintaining a professional image with customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Clean all common areas and facilities
Perform tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and trash removal
Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and stock them with supplies
Report any damages or repair needs promptly
Assist with various cleaning and maintenance tasks
Ensure safety by monitoring and clearing walkways
Help with furniture assembly and setup for different events
Handle carpet and upholstery cleaning as needed
Assist in restoring areas after resident move-outs

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you need a high school diploma, custodial experience, and the ability to lift heavy objects. Good communication and customer service skills are essential.

This position offers a lively work environment with moderate noise levels. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, and bending. Vision abilities required.
