    Foghorn Therapeutics, a prominent clinical-stage biotechnology company, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled candidate to join their team as a 2024 COOP CMC Formulation Development. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment as part of a team that is revolutionizing the field of chromatin regulation. Foghorn Therapeutics aims to develop a new class of medicines that modulate the chromatin regulatory system, thus orchestrating the genes our cells express, including when, where, and in what order.     Responsibilities
    • Co-Op period: through December, 2024 or January, 2025 starting summer 2024 (starting date is flexible)
    • Learn and implement various drug delivery technologies for extended parenteral deliveries and enabled oral delivery for Foghorn's portfolio. Candidate will be working closely with scientists in the lab to support their activities and eventually also execute their own studies.
    • Carry out chemical, analytical, and physicochemical testing of drug products.
    • Help support CMC study execution, trouble shooting, maintenance of excipient supplies, and other associated lab activities.
    • Maintain detailed documentation and analyze data to support formulation development
    • Participate in CMC-related activities including literature searches, data collation and analysis, preparing presentations/ posters, writing study reports, stability testing, and other lab related activities
    • Work collaboratively with other departments to conduct analytical testing.
    • Actively participate in meetings to discuss project development progress and provide intellectual contributions.

    Requirements

    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Chemistry, Chemical / Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related fields.
    • A strong interest in pharmaceutical development, various drug delivery technologies, formulation development and a positive can-do attitude is very much preferred.
    • Lab experience in analytical characterization or pharmaceutical formulation development is also preferred.
    • Basic understanding of formulation, analytical and biophysical techniques including mixing techniques, nano-milling, freeze-drying, use of other formulation equipment, pH-measurements, HPLC, particle size analysis, and thermal analysis could be advantageous.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate records.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present scientific results to a diverse audience.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
