- The hospitalist provides medical services within the scope of licensing, training, and credentialing. A typical workday includes initial patient assessments, daily rounds, discharge coordination, and communication with specialists and local physicians. The physician directs and supervises Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants on staff. We offer a competitive salary, medical benefits, vacation, and CME allowance. Coverage needed:
Physicians share call and coverage, but typically will cover 4-5 day blocks with occasional night call relief.
Support:
A Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is staffed during the daytime hours to assist with H&Ps, discharge, daily rounds, and to respond to other nursing calls.
Daily volumes:
We typically round on 20-25 acute patients per day in the Critical Care Unit, Surgical Unit, and Medical Unit.
The salary is $200,000 for approximately 72 hours a pay period or 12 shifts 7a-7p a month with night call included.
They normally take calls from home unless CCU patient admitted then they may need to come in to assess before midnight.
We are also looking to hire two physicians so that they can get the scheduling to cover only 12 hour shifts.
