    Job Purpose


    Responsible for coordinating aspects related to the management of material, training, facilities, and fleet in support of the NE Transmission Construction team, who constructs electric projects to support the successful operation & maintenance of the New England electric system. The coordinator will collaborate with other colleagues to support logistics management for the department.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Managing: Material inventory levels and ensuring that materials are available when needed, and managing training budgets and expenses. Also managing tracking department vehicle inventory for internal fleet and rental equipment.
    • Maintaining: Accurate records of inventory transactions and ensuring that all safety and regulatory requirements are met, and accurate records of vehicle usage and expenses.
    • Coordinating: With vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment, also with project managers and other team members to ensure that materials are available to complete projects on time and within budget. Coordinating logistics for facilities needs at permanent locations and temporary project show-up areas. Coordinating with subject matter experts to ensure that training materials are accurate and up-to-date. Coordinating with department leadership to ensure that training programs are aligned with business objectives. And to ensure that vehicles are available when needed and with Fleet Management to communicate vehicle requirements.
    • Identifying: Opportunities for cost savings and process improvements related to material management, the training needs of employees and assisting to develop and implement training for employees who work on electric transmission lines. Identifying, tracking and reporting material usage and identifying and resolving material discrepancies.

    Additionally:

    • Developing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures for the safe and effective handling and storage of materials.
    • Tracking and reporting on employee training progress and compliance, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and making recommendations for improvement, as well as developing and implementing policies and procedures related to employee training.
    • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to employee training.
    • Travel across service territory to provide field support to supervisors who are staged at various project locations.
    • Ability to support off-hours storm restoration activities.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in technical, logistics, process, construction, or business discipline or 3 to 5 years of equivalent experience in utility management.
    • Experience in construction with focus on safety, cost control, adherence to environmental regulations, work quality, efficiency, and performance.
    • Strong aptitude for computer and business applications used to fully leverage technology solutions in the construction work environment.
    • Organization and management of multiple tasks / priorities to deliver high results.
    • Displays commitment to safe and productive work environment through consistent actions, beliefs and personal conduct.

    Salary: $105,000 to $123,000

    This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
