    We are looking for an experienced medical referral individual to fill a TEMPORARY three-month position for a medical leave. This position could become a permanent placement if the person does not come back from their leave.

    Hours: Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm

    Experience:

    Medical Referral experience is a must. EPIC experience is also a plus, but not required.

    Job Summary:

    Performs a wide range of administrative duties including, but not limited to: processing incoming referrals, entering patient demographics, verifying insurance authorization, scheduling patient appointments, and communicating with referring providers and specialty providers.

    Essential Functions:

    • Responsible for tracking and processing all incoming patient referrals.
    • Ensures that referrals are addressed promptly, consistently prioritizing by urgency of patient condition.
    • Assembles information concerning patient's clinical background and referral needs.
    • Works closely with the insurance authorization team to ensure all pre-authorization requirements are met before scheduling patients. Works with authorization staff to ensure authorizations cover services needed.
    • Obtains and enters surgeon orders for any necessary pre-appointment testing.
    • Serves as a point person for new patient referrals for referring providers, patients, and internal stakeholders.
    • Provide superior customer service to patients, families, the general public, and co-workers.
    • Is a knowledgeable resource to patients/customers and internal staff, striving to build patient/customer loyalty and confidence.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) - Experience with EPIC, preferred.

    • Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
    • Maintains the highest standards of confidentiality. Displays professional ethical conduct at all times.
    • Demonstrates a self-driven approach with a can-do attitude toward both internal and external customers.
    Must be able to pass criminal background checks, drug screen and current reference checks. Must be at least 18 to apply.
