    Are you an ambitious Project Engineer looking for an exciting challenge? Do you thrive in a fast-paced construction environment and have a passion for driving projects forward to completion? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you to join our team.

    As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with the Project Manager and Project Superintendent to support the successful delivery of highway and roadway construction projects.

    You will be responsible for compiling and analyzing production and cost statistics, identifying problem areas and providing solutions.

    Additionally, you will work with a variety of stakeholders, including Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, Accounting, Clients, Vendors, and Subcontractors, to ensure that all paperwork, correspondence, and submittals are responded to promptly and accurately.


    Essential Responsibilities and Abilities:
    Prepare and distribute project submittals
    Prepare subcontracts and purchase agreements for the project
    Maintain and distribute plan drawings and revisions
    Initialize and maintain required project logs (RFIs, change orders, submittals)
    Assist in the preparation of work plans for upcoming scopes of work
    Obtain required permits for job site activity
    Set up utilities, services, and water meters
    Track project expenses and record them on a weekly basis
    Maintain strict adherence to company policies and perform safety inspections weekly
    Maintain daily production quantities for cost tracking
    Review budgets and adjust job costing
    Manage change order correspondence and tracking
    Assist with scheduling
    Ensure timely and accurate project closeouts
    Assume additional responsibilities as directed


    Qualifications:
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
    Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience
    1 to 2 years of construction experience required (including internships, preferably heavy civil experience)
    Knowledge of field concepts, practices, and procedures pertaining to highway/road construction
    Demonstrated ability to build relationships, communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, and lead through influence - with the purpose of driving change and delivering positive outcomes
    Be self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision and as a team player
    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
    Pass criminal and driving background checks
    Valid Driver License
