Lead Electrician MSC - Chardon, United States - University Hospitals

Description

• Performs scheduled and unscheduled electrical maintenance and/or repair to equipment/areas within the control of the craft throughout the facility.
• Independently handles moderate to complex electrical repairs.
• Provides training and mentoring as needed.
• Initiates work orders.
• Documents all work, closing work orders in the current software.
• Installs, remodels, or upgrades equipment including, but not limited to, the normal and emergency power distribution systems, motors, security systems, fire alarm systems, beds, the pneumatic tube system, nurse call systems, TV distribution system, and doors.
• Orders parts as needed.
• Performs duties as assigned.
• Shift work may vary based upon hospital demands and emergencies.
• Assures that all safety and compliance rules and regulations are adhered to throughout all job activities and compliance periods in the hospital.

• Complies with all policies and standards.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

• Related Vocational/Technical training Required or
• Associate's Degree with focus on electrical studies Required

• 5+ years Electrician experience in the craft Required and
• Specific experience in a large hospital Preferred and
• Experience with fire alarm installation and testing Required

• Must have working knowledge of the National Electrical Codes. Required
• Detail-oriented and organized, with good analytical and problem solving ability. Required
• Notable client service, communication, and relationship building skills. Required
• Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment. Required
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Required
• Demonstrated ability to use PCs, email, and general office equipment (i.e. printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.). Required

• Fire Alarm license Required and
• Electrical contractor license - State of Ohio, local municipality or Required or
• Generator Specialist/ ATS certified tech Required
