    Please note that we will only consider candidates with unrestricted authorization to work in the United States for this position.Who are we looking for? Vectech is recruiting a mid-career mechanical engineer with at least three years of professional experience in hardware.

    Candidates must have demonstrated mastery of mechanical engineering technical skills such as use of CAD design software, ability to perform technical analysis, an understanding of material selection and testing strategy, knowledge of manufacturing processes, ability to quickly build and iterate prototypes, and an understanding of product lifecycle management.

    Candidates should have prior experience independently planning, building, and implementing hardware features, and be fully capable of leading design or experiments when provided with requirements.

    Candidates should have an interest in making an impact on public health and investing time to understand Vectech's business and the public health organizations we serve.

    ResponsibilitiesLead design of mechanical systems for novel and impactful products in public and environmental health, collaborating with a cross-functional team of engineers, entomologists, and researchers.

    Independently lead design of mechanical and optical systems in accordance with given product requirements and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

    Prepare designs and detailed drawings of product schematics using CAD software tools. Prepare documentation of analyses and provide suggestions for a path forward with regards to design, assembly, and manufacturability. Interpret and produce design sketches, specifications, and engineering data for design and analysis. Proactively manage deadlines and generate reports, presentations, and written grant deliverables.
    Provide mentorship and guidance to entry level engineers. Participate in weekly scrum meetings and design sessions. Collaborate with project managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources.
    Display good communication and work well with small teams.
