Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a talented Mechanical Test Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.The position will support the execution of mechanical design and test engineering tasks supporting the Department of Defense, intelligence, and other applications. Candidate will be responsible for applying sound test engineering, mechanical engineering & design principles in the development of a HWIL system containing machined, structural, sheet metal, & commercial off the shelf component parts. Candidate will be responsible for bill of material development, system documentation and verification and component specification for mechanical assemblies. Candidate must be able to apply sound mechanical test engineering processes, such as drawing production, configuration management, and integration and development of complex mechanical systems.Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.

• Candidate must have a minimum of 2+ years of combined experience in mechanical component / Hardware in the Loop testing.

• Demonstrated experience in the following areas:

  • Test Procedure Development, Performance and Updates

  • Performance of System Testing Level Testing

  • CAD based software such as SolidWorks

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team; able to perform complex tasks applying engineering first principles.

• Must have strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

• Lead testing operations, reviews, run analysis, and define hardware test plans.

• Active DOD Secret Clearance or Interim Secret Clearance
