    NAVAIR ERP SME (Patuxent River, MD)
    Job Summary
    We are seeking a highly experienced NAVAIR ERP Subject Matter Expert (SME IV) to lead analysis and transformation initiatives across NAVAIR business and operational environments. The SME IV will provide detailed evaluations of current operations, organizational processes, and staff structures to develop phased recommendations for improvement. This position requires deep expertise in business process modeling, operational alignment, and transformation management, with the ability to employ business process models, activity flows, and data models to drive measurable results thru ERP systems.
    The SME IV serves as both a leader and facilitator, guiding process experts through the design and implementation of improved workflows and organizational procedures. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success leading change management, mission alignment, and modernization efforts; particularly within NAVAIR or similar DoD program environments.
    What You Will Do
    • Conduct comprehensive analysis of current operations, workflows, and staffing models to identify gaps and opportunities for optimization.
    • Develop and refine process documentation, activity flows, and performance metrics that align with mission objectives.
    • Lead teams of process experts and junior analysts in the design and implementation of business process improvements in SAP.
    • Drive adoption of transformation initiatives through structured change management and stakeholder engagement.
    • Direct the use of process mapping tools and ensure consistency across documentation and analysis deliverables.
    • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure mission alignment and operational effectiveness.
    • Provide strategic recommendations to improve performance, efficiency, and organizational integration.
    Qualifications
    • Experience: Minimum fifteen (15) years of hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: Business Operations, Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, or Training in support of NAVAIR.
    • Recognized expert and industry leader in a Relevant Technical Discipline.
    • Demonstrated experience with SAP ECC or S/4HANA implementations.
    • Proven track record in leading organizational transformation, process improvement, and change management initiatives.
    • Strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills to lead teams and interface with senior government and industry stakeholders.
    Education
    • Required: Master's degree (MS or MA) in Business, Management, or a relevant technical discipline."
    • Allowable Substitution: A Bachelor's degree and an additional four (4) years of relevant experience may be substituted for the Master's degree requirement.
