    DEFINITION

    The packager is responsible for performing final inspection of all parts before packaging and palletizing product. Parts are packaged and palletized according to repetitive standard steps to ensure that all product is complete and accurate before being sent to the customer. The packager is expected to weigh every hitch package and ensure that all parts are complete and accurate. The packager keeps daily record of quantities and models of product packaged during shift. In addition to the daily packaging schedule, the packager also fills Purchase Orders (PO). A Purchase Order is an internal order for manufactured or stock parts. The Production Supervisor prints a copy of the PO and gives it to the packager. The packager is then responsible for pulling, preparing, and palletizing all parts on the PO within 24 hours. If there are insufficient parts to fill a PO, the packager must immediately inform the Production Supervisor. The packager is responsible for promptly communicating to the Production Supervisor any inventory needs required for daily packaging. The packager is responsible for accuracy of all packaged and palletized product and accuracy in all purchase order requests.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Safety: All employees are to properly use all required person protective equipment, follow all

    safety guidelines and instructions and work to maintain and improve a safe work environment.

    Quality: Perform consistent visual inspection of all parts for defects or problems. The Packager will need to be able to understand the difference between a good and bad part and what makes them. The Packager should be seeking out ways for continually improve quality processes while being able to pass monthly standard operating procedure audits.

    Productivity: Production is ran based off of time standards, The Packager will be expected to hit and maintain these time standards while giving appropriate time and focus to tasks according to priority and demand. The Packager should follow all standard operating procedures and correctly record and report daily and weekly tasks.

    Kanban: The production floor runs off the Kanban system. The Packager must understand the Kanban system. Produce the right parts, in the right quantity, at the right time. Give appropriate time and focus to tasks according to priority and demands. Also, must be able to pass Kanban audits.

    Cleanliness: A clean workplace is a safe work place all employees are to complete of a daily cleaning assignment, maintain a clean and well organized workstation with tools cleaned and in designated area at the end of every shift and be able to pass month 5S and cleaning audits.

    Attendance: All employees are to arrive on time for regular shift (6:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday-Thursday) They are expected to stay on task and at workstation during the entire shift, arrive to meetings on time and returning from breaks and lunch at appointed time.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    Hand dip parts in paint tub

    + Paint parts in correct quantities

    Place stickers and decals on finished product

    Upkeep and maintenance of paint tubs and equipment

    Touch up and repaint parts as needed

    Maintain finished parts inventory stocked and well organized

    Maintain packaging supplies and material stocked and well organized (may require forklift)

    Machine and Equipment to be used:

    Electronic scale

    Forklift (if applicable)

    Paint tubs

    Staple gun

    Pallet jack

    Tape gun

    Cordless drill

    Impact wrench

    Job Qualifications:

    Prior experience in a manufacturing company is preferred but not required

    Ability to read, interpret and follow safety rules and Standard Operating Procedures.

    Effectively give and receive feedback.
