    Description

    The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the universitys missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. This position will work at OHSU locations and at our partner siteAdventist Health Portland.

    The Physician/surgeon is expected to actively participate in the education, research, patient care and administrative programs of the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, with an emphasis on foot and ankle surgery and general orthopaedics. The position actively participates in all aspects of the clinical care of patients as outlined by the Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation.

    • The Department Chair and clinical director will work with you to develop your clinical and operative schedule. Your duties will include inpatient, outpatient and surgical service activities for general orthopedic surgical services at Adventist Health Portland, with a specialty focus in your area of interest as agreed with the Department Chair. Call: This position will be expected to take call, as assigned, with other surgeons on nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Administration. Administrative and other duties may be assigned based on Department needs and areas of expertise and interest. There will be opportunities to participate in Departmental, Hospital and Clinical management and to serve on institutional committees.
    • Education. Since OHSU is a teaching facility, there are optional opportunities for teaching medical students, residents, or fellows in the clinical setting. There are also opportunities to participate in the didactic curriculum if desired. Teaching assignments will be given from the Director of Education.
    • Research. As desired there are opportunities to participate in Departmental Clinical Research trials.
    • M.D. or equivalent degree/training; completion of an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency; completion of a Foot and Ankle Fellowship.
    • Must be Board Certified, or reach Board Certification approval within one year of hire.
