    Job Title

    A Route Optimization Specialist is a key role in enhancing transportation and logistics efficiency. We are seeking a talented professional to join our team in Birmingham, AL.

    Responsibilities:

    • Optimize Delivery Routes: Utilize data analysis, mapping software, and mathematical models to design delivery routes that balance customer expectations and operational constraints.
    • Evaluate Route Performance: Continuously evaluate route performance and make necessary adjustments and improvements based on factors such as traffic, weather, customer feedback, and more.
    • Develop SOPs: Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to route optimization to ensure consistency and best practices.
    • Quality Management: Establish and manage deliverables to promote a culture of quality and excellence within the organization.
    • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Pace dispatchers, drivers, managers, and customer representatives to ensure seamless and timely deliveries.
    • Technology Integration: Identify and implement relevant technologies that can enhance our logistics operations and route planning.
    • Problem Solving: Engage in systematic problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and effective solution implementation.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or a related field.
    • Minimum of two years of experience in route planning or optimization.
    • Experience with logistics management operating systems.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, and GIS software.
    • Strong multitasking abilities with the capacity to work on and balance multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and oral communication abilities.

    Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
