    Position Overview:

    Solid Power is seeking a Process Engineer I to join our talented team of engineers and scientists working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation, all solidstate rechargeable batteries.

    Solid Power is a dynamic, fastpaced, collaborative, and innovative team environment. The preferred candidate will have strong cross-collaboration experience in a fast-paced, start-up environment. This position requires the ability to learn and apply a wide set of engineering skills. Experience working in a pilot scale processing or manufacturing environment is desirable. This role will work closely with Technology Integration and Cell Manufacturing, as well as operators, quality, and automation engineering.


    Job Duties:
    Works closely with Technology Integration team executing cell assembly to meet internal and external customer deliverables.

    Provide timely, data focused feedback to critical business partners, mostly Tech Integration and Manufacturing Engineering for scale-up to the pilot line production.

    Responsible for starting up cell assembly production daily for effective handoff to operator during shift handoff.
    Expected to support cell assembly operator with questions, process optimization and support, and troubleshooting off-hours as required.
    Become an expert on operating, testing, and troubleshooting equipment.

    This position is the owner of the equipment center to include capturing preventative maintenance required, PFMEA/DFMEA, 5S, continuous improvement, parts ordering, equipment procurement as required, and training of cell assembly operator in conjunction with training team.

    Work closely, collaboratively, and effectively with other departments and team members.
    Aid in development of manufacturing procedures.
    Develop and validate quality control test methodologies.
    Maintain general lab safety and daily work cleanliness.
    Responsible for production to meet internal and external customer deliverables on time.
    Document existing and new capabilities with detailed SOPs, work instructions, and control plans.


    Qualifications/Requirements:


    Minimum of bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent direct experience.2+ years of related industry experience with lithium-ion cell manufacturing and testing.

    Strong communicator with a track record of presenting to audiences from the operator to the executive leadership level.
    Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.
    Strong problem-solving skills.
    Strong computer literacy.
    Experience with SolidWorks is preferred.
    Experience in a production environment.
    Experience with process data analysis.
    Team builder that thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment.
    Proficiency in MS Office Suite required, proficiency in SAP preferred.


    Physical Requirements:
    Most working hours will be spent on the production floor.
    Ability to lift 50lbs daily.

    Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary including, but not limited to eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR.


    Salary Range:
    $80,000 - $90,000/annually
