- Integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet patient and family needs
- Assist healthcare team in preventing illness and injury, maintaining wellness, and providing comfort
- Deliver and document direct, age-specific care based on medical orders
- Safely administer prescribed medications and identify incompatibilities
- Function primarily in surgeries and invasive procedures across all age groups
- Responsible for gathering appropriate supplies, practicing sterile technique, and managing medications in a sterile environment
- Licensure (or eligible to sit for boards) as LPN in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent required for continued employment
- Acute care setting or experience in an OR/procedural area preferred
- Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing
- Work and take on-call responsibilities all shifts, weekends, and holidays
- May be assigned to various units providing competency-based nursing care
- Work in perioperative operating rooms, procedure rooms, and other assigned units
- Lifting lbs., Prolonged standing, Frequent bending, Walking, Climbing, Reaching, Repetitive motions
- Strong recall, Reasoning, Problem solving, Hearing, Speak clearly, Write legibly, Reading, Logical thinking
- Handle multiple priorities, Frequent and intense customer interactions, Adapt to frequent change
- Exposure to potentially hazardous and infectious substances
