- Provides age-appropriate and population specific patient care in a safe, skillful, accurate and efficient manner to pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Exhibits responsibility for departmental and personal work schedules with regards to flexibility to meet the staffing needs of the department.
- Conducts self in a professional manner.
- Acts in accordance with hospital policies, meets the requirements of the Code of Conduct, and identifies any conflicts of interest.
- Follows principles of aseptic technique.
- Appropriately sets up endoscopy procedure rooms with equipment and supplies for endoscopy procedures and obtains additional supplies/equipment for the endoscopy team according to physician's preference cards.
- Follows policy and procedures for cleaning, disinfecting and sterilization of scopes and instruments.
- Follows policy and procedure for environmental cleaning and housekeeping.
- Stocks patient rooms daily and prn to assure all necessary supplies are available before patient enters the room.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the Materials Management (if trained), Meditech Module, Intranet and PAC's computer system.

Works with the endoscopy team, under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse by assisting the physician in providing safe and effective care to endoscopy patients during the pre, intra, and post-operative period.

Job Responsibilities:
Qualifications
Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
Education Level:
High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of an accredited surgical technology program, medical technician program, or one year endoscopy technician experience or equivalent.
Certification/Licensure:
CPR certification required. GI Technical Specialist preferred.
Experience Requirements:
Preferred experience in providing or assisting in patient care and knowledge of medical terminology. Basic knowledge of computers, aseptic technique, and materials management techniques.
