    Description

    Objective:

    Browning Contractors Inc. is a leading underground construction company for the Central Valley. We have 2 open roles: Wet Utilities Estimator and Dry Utilities Estimator, to evaluate and estimate the cost involved in a construction project. This includes analyzing project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates. You will be knowledgeable in the construction process, materials labor, and market conditions will assist the company in making informed decisions to support a profitable business.

    Essential functions:

    Estimator-Wet Utilities

    Collecting all pertinent documents including property plans, technical drawings, and project specifications.

    Estimating costs related to pipes, pumps, treatment facilities, and associated infrastructure for water and wastewater.

    Consider and incorporate regulatory requirements related to water quality and environmental standards.

    Estimate costs for the installation and maintenance of sewer systems, including pipelines and treatment facilities.

    Estimate costs for the installation, repair, or expansion of water distribution systems.

    Drafting proposal of how much time will be needed to complete each development.

    Performing risk assessments to account for potential deviations from the project plan.

    Accounting for the use of our resources, plus a reasonable profit margin to calculate an overarching price.

    Solicit and collect quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.

    Evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids to ensure competitiveness and adherence to project requirements.

    Negotiate pricing and contract terms with vendors and subcontractors.

    Obtain and review offers and quotes from subcontractors or vendors.

    Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate people (project managers, clients, bidding competitions etc.)

    Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project costs.

    Develop contingency plans and factors in risk mitigation measures in cost estimates.

    Estimator-Dry Utilities

    Collecting all pertinent documents including property plans, technical drawings, and project specifications.

    Involves estimating costs related to cables, conduits, transformers, and other equipment for power and communication systems.

    Estimate costs for the installation and maintenance of electrical infrastructure, including power lines, transformers, and distribution equipment.

    Estimate costs for the installation of communication infrastructure, including fiber optics, cables, and network equipment.

    Estimate costs associated with the installation and maintenance of natural gas distribution systems.

    Drafting proposal of how much time will be needed to complete each development.

    Performing risk assessments to account for potential deviations from the project plan.

    Accounting for the use of our resources, plus a reasonable profit margin to calculate an overarching price.

    Experience:

    Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).

    Must have 5 years of experience in underground wet utility construction.

    Experience with contracts and AHJ permits/Spec/Standards

    Knowledgeable in HCSS/Heavy Bid Software/ Heavy Jobs

    Knowledgeable in City, County, and municipality requirements

    Understanding of CPM scheduling via MS Project
