    Job Description


    SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE :
    The Accounting Project Leader reports to the Vice President, Corporate Controller and is a key member of team responsible for

    supporting the Company's accounting and financial reporting function.

    This position interacts heavily with divisional finance & accounting teams, the tax and accounting departments of our parent company, Barry-Wehmiller, as well as operational leaders, our investor group, auditors, third-party service providers and others.

    A successful candidate will be confident and assertive, have a strong knowledge of accounting processes and US GAAP, will leverage analytical skills and project management expertise to drive successful outcomes, has the ability to interact with or lead cross-functional teams, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, results-oriented environment.


    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

    Project Leadership:
    Initiate, plan, and execute finance and accounting projects to improve financial processes, internal controls, analysis, and reporting. Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure project objectives align with organizational goals.

    Process Improvement:

    Identify process gaps and opportunities for process improvements within the Cor and divisional finance and accounting functions, design and implement process improvements and best practices.

    Streamline accounting and financial reporting processes and enhance data accuracy. Transition day to day process improvements to accounting team members.

    Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with divisional finance teams, other business departments, and parent company finance teams, to execute on business process improvements and financial reporting initiatives.

    Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the finance and accounting teams.

    Corporate entity accounting and analysis:

    Assist with the consideration and design of the overall accounting organization, with a focus on the corporate infrastructure needed to support the business and create scalable bandwidth to support growth.

    Oversee various aspects of corporate and entity wide accounting including self-insured healthcare, workers compensation, company-wide P&C insurance, inter-company allocations, equity, and shareholder notes.


    Acquisition analysis and accounting:

    Assist with acquisition due diligence efforts, purchase price accounting, integration activities (including establishing accounting and reporting processes and controls) and setting up post-acquisition reporting for acquired entities.


    Budgeting and forecasting:

    assist as necessary with the annual budgeting process, actuals to budget variance analysis, and forecast updates and variance analysis.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA or MBA highly preferred.

    At least ten years of relevant finance and accounting experience including accounting process design, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, implementation of new technology, and demonstrated understanding of process improvement.

    Ideally, a mix of public and private experience.
    Deep knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP").
    Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity within a finance & accounting function.

    DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    Proactive and results-oriented mindset.
    Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficient with CPM systems (HFM, OneStream etc.).
    Understand ERP and related systems and can effectively communicate business needs with IT can "talk" the IT language.

    Strong written and oral business communication skills, including formatting and preparation of reporting decks, communication of results (telling the story) etc.

    Effective at time management, prioritization, and organizing skills.
    Strong leadership, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
    Demonstrates teamwork, compassion, and respect toward others.


    WORKING CONDITIONS :


    Work is generally performed in a typical office environment, with limited exposure to harsh weather conditions, loud internal or external noise, fumes, or significant temperature changes.


    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS :
    Work can involve lifting and carrying up to ten to twenty (10 – 20) lbs.; frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, and reaching; occasional kneeling and stooping; operating office equipment; periodic driving likely; visual acuity to prepare, read, and organize detailed hard copy and electronic documents; ability to speak and to hear the spoken word in normal face-to-face, telephonic, and web-based business

    communications.

    Willingness to travel in a work capacity, including occasional evening and weekend hours. Willingness to accommodate occasional meetings and work activities that may be scheduled after normal daytime business hours.
